New Information About Upcoming Board of Trustees Meetings
Last year Verizon approached the Fremont Union High School District to propose the addition of cell equipment at Cupertino High School and Lynbrook High School. These proposals have been approved by the City of Cupertino and the City of San Jose and were reviewed at the FUHSD Board of Trustees meeting on Feb. 3, 2015.
Although the Board of Trustees was previously provided with extensive and compelling documentation by Verizon, the FUHSD Board of Trustees has requested additional information from independent sources prior to making a decision about the proposal from Verizon. We anticipate that this in-depth independent analysis will take time as we expect a comprehensive and exhaustive impartial approach to investigating the need for additional cell equipment and, if the need is demonstrated, a report of the best available locations for additional equipment.
When the independent analysis is completed the report will be shared at an upcoming FUHSD Board of Trustees meeting. The meeting date has not yet been established however you can be assured that information will be posted on the FUHSD, Cupertino High School, and Lynbrook High School websites about the date, time, and location of that public Board of Trustees meeting at which the independent report will be presented.
The next five FUHSD Board of Trustees meetings (Feb. 24 through April 21) will take place at our high schools and the focus of these meetings is on celebrating and honoring students and staff at each of the schools. Therefore, we expect that the Board of Trustees meeting dedicated to hearing the independent analysis of Verizon’s proposal will follow these meetings held at the high school sites and that meeting will most likely not be scheduled before the end of April.
We know that it is important to keep you apprised of the status of this matter and we appreciate the community’s patience as we continue to explore this important subject.
