Aletheia’s New Topic:  Submit to Aletheia’s newest topic, “What my friends don’t know about me”.  Aletheia is a student publication where people can submit personal reflections about a topic.  Submission deadline is April 26th.  Submit anonymously at lhsaletheia.org/submit.  /M. Otoshi

 

Aletheia Applications:  We are looking for 6-8 more students to join our staff next year.  Applications are due TODAY, 4/23!  Go to lhsaletheia.org/apply for more information and application forms.  Staff members tap into the experiences of high school students, working behind the scenes meeting with professionals, reading submissions, discussing topics, and putting together the next issue together.  Current juniors, sophomores, and freshman may apply.  /M. Le Boulanger Fundraiser:  Come out to Le Boulanger in Saratoga, this Friday, April 25th, and enjoy some delicious, savory, scrumptious meals.  Revenue goes toward all four classes to support YOU!  Fundraising tickets will be distributed on Thursday, April 24th.  /J. Lee

 

FUHSD Art Show:  Come and view student art work at the Fremont Union High School District Art Show until April 26th at the Sunnyvale Art Gallery, 251 West El Camino Real, Sunnyvale.  The gallery is open Monday through Saturday from 11:00am to 8:00pm.  It is free and open to the public.  /K. PTSA Parent Education Session:  The PTSA and Challenge Success have partnered to bring a parent education session, “The Well-Balanced Student” to Lynbrook on Wednesday, April 30th at 7:00pm in the Auditorium.  Come and learn how students are coping with academic pressure, ways you can reduce academic stress without sacrificing achievement, and strategies to increase resilience, creativity and well-being of your student.  Challenge Success is a research based organization started at the Stanford Graduate School of Education.  /D. Bike/Walk to School Day:  The annual Bike/Walk to School Day is on Wednesday, April 30th.  All students are encouraged to walk or ride their bikes to school.  Goodies will be given to all who participate.  /J. Fujiki

Society of Psychology & Sociology Speaker Event:  Interested in psychology, curious about career options?  Professional psychologist, Lois Sharp, will be speaking about her career and answering questions on Friday, April 25th during lunch in the study room of the library.  Come out and spend some time with this professional psychologist to explore the topics of procrastination and career options.  /S. Hiking & Environmental Impact’s Earth Week:  Hey all… HEI wants you to come out to our Earth Week!  We will have events today in the quad.  In addition to activities, we will be giving away gift baskets with Lush and beauty products and recycled stationary.    Did you know that the organic food movement began in the 1940’s in response to the Green Revolution?  Coem out to the quad during brunch and lunch to learn a little more about organic food and taste some, too!  We will also have trivia and facts about wildlife and what you can do to help preserve our environment.  /J. COLLEGE/VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:

Military Information Tables:  How many pull-ups can you do?  Come and visit the military information tables today during lunch in the quad.  Several branches of the armed services will be here to share their information with students.  And yes, there will be pull-up bars for you to try!  /B.
