  • 9th grade students are visited in their Lit/Writing classes by a Counselor to develop a 4 year course plan for graduation and to distribute initial planning forms.
  • 10th and 11th grade students are visited by a Counselor during their social studies class to deliver course options and planning forms.
  • All students receive a Science and Math Advising form with recommendation from current teachers; use this to guide your selection
  • All students are given 2 weeks to plan courses before paperwork is due.
  • Current 8th grade students and parents invited to course selection evenings.

  • Course Verification distributed during 3rd period classes and must be returned a week later

FUHSD Graduation Requirements

Social Studies - 30 credits
World History - 10th
US History - 11th
US Government/Economics - 12th

English - 40 credits
1 class each year of high school

Math - 20 credits
Minimum of 2 years of high school math and must have Algebra 1 and Geometry credit

Science - 20 credits
Minimum of 1 biological science and 1 physical science course

Physical Education - 20 credits
PE in 9th grade is mandatory; PE credit cannot be completed through Athletic participation in 12th grade

Selective Electives - 20 credits
Must complete 10 credits (1 course) from two of the following departments: World Language, Fine Art, Applied Academic

Electives - 70 credits
Must complete 7 course beyond the requirements from any subject area (extra math, science, art, language)
