PTSA Student Activity Grants

PTSA General Meeting Dates: 9/12/17, 11/14/17, 2/13/18, 3/13/18, 4/26/18, 5/8/18

                          Student Activity Grants 2017-18

One of the Lynbrook High School PTSA’s goals is to support our students in every aspect of

the high school experience. In recognition of how much co-curricular activities enhance and

enrich this experience, the Lynbrook PTSA is offering grants that will be given to help student

groups with their projects.

Criteria:

The project or activity would need to benefit your club or group, Lynbrook High School or the

local community. Representation of Lynbrook in an outside competition would qualify the

activity. Higher priority will be given to requests that will serve the entire school or community.

While we expect to give out many smaller grants, there will be a maximum of $500 given for

each grant, with a cap of $500 per group and/or per activity per year. If your request involves

multiple items, please break down the cost and indicate their priority.

Each application must be approved by the group’s advisor.

Applications must be complete. A soft copy of the application must be submitted via email to

amylui_2000@yahoo.com and hard copy to the PTSA box in the school office, prior to the date

for which funds are needed.

Grants must be approved by the PTSA Student Activity Grant Committee before funds can be

made available. Therefore, for optimum quick response time, please submit your application at

least 8 business days before the next PTSA meeting (see website for dates). Note that the

approved grant amount will be reimbursed after the expenses are made. Please save your

receipts and submit them along with the payment authorization form to PTSA box in school

office to get a PTSA check written to your club’s ASB account.

Please be advised that PTSA bylaws do not allow us to fund political campaigns or propaganda

that attempt to influence legislation. In keeping with the secular nature of our public schools,

we will not fund any endeavors of an overtly religious nature. Also note that team registration

fees are eligible, but not individual student’s travel costs. Costs towards supplies/equipment for

your club project/activity are eligible items to be listed on the application.
